Education

Dear Parent or Guardian,

My goal as an educator is to create and always maintain a positive, supportive learning environment that recognizes both the unique learning needs and styles of each of my students, as well as, that builds upon each student’s strengths and interests. With your assistance, we can make a huge impact not only in the life of each student but also in his/her education and achievement. Your support is welcomed and very much appreciated.

I would like to encourage you to contact me via e-mail or by phone if you ever have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to working with both you and your child this year. You will be notified of your child’s progress toward his/her individualized IEP goals and objectives according to the schedule that has been set by our school’s administration.

Sincerely, Rebecca C. Parramore

Bio

My name is Rebecca Parramore and I am currently in my 12th year of teaching as an interrelated special education teacher here at Echols Co. Schools. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Valdosta State University. After working several years in the field, I returned to Valdosta State University to earn a Master of Education Degree in Special Education (General and Adaptive Curriculum). I am certified through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to teach: Middle School Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies, as well as, Interrelated Special Education Classes within all content areas. I am currently in the process of looking into pursuing a Specialist Degree in Special Education from Georgia Southern University. I feel like my life has simply been “blessed beyond all measure” to not only have the most special opportunity to live out my childhood dream of teaching but to also have the opportunity to work within the school system in which I attended as a child. I have worked in inclusionary SPED classes, as well as, served as a resource/self-contained teacher.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends both camping and fishing. I also enjoy reading, as well as, traveling. After visiting Peru in 2009, I now have a strong desire in my heart in the near future to travel abroad to take part in missions.
